The Wedding Rehearsal

Although wedding rehearsal are very standard its easy to forget the details that go into planning. Add some excitement to all the nervousness involved in planning a big day. It is important that all of the wedding party be fully involved in the rehearsal. It’s even more important that they pay close attention when the service is nontraditional or unfamiliar. Below are some guidelines to consider for a traditional wedding rehearsal:

Who attends?
Bride and groom
Best man and the maid and matron of honor
Bridesmaids
Groomsmen and ushers
Ring bearer
Flower Girl
Parents of the bride and groom (Typically the rooms parents have no active part of ceremony they don’t need to be present)
Officiant
Anyone speaking or preforming in the ceremony
Musicians, DJ, audio technicians who are handling the music and the sound system during the ceremony.
Photographer and Videographer

What should they wear?
Clothing that’s acceptable for the house of worship.

When is the rehearsal held?
Typically the rehearsal is held one week before the wedding or two days before. The closer to the wedding rehearsal takes place the better chances that all will go smoothly.

What happens during the rehearsal?
At the rehearsal, the wedding planner or officiant reviews the order with the couple. The officiant might ask the couple to recite one verse so they can find the right tone and volume.If there is an aisle runner, use the timing and signals for placing the runner once the brides mother has been seated The organist plays the processional so that the pace and spacing can be practiced. The order of procession is established and the attendants walk up the aisle two or three times until all goes smoothly. Everyone makes sure things are comfortable and that the order looks symmetrical. The maid of honor then learns when to take the brides bouquet and how to arrange the brides train with out attracting attention to herself. The officiant will explain when the veil if worn should be turned back and a decision is made on who will do so. After the kiss the bride and her party will follow her then the guest.
Then off to greet bride and groom and party or meet at the reception hall.

When considering using an outdoor tent for your ceremony or reception, there is a list of options to choose from. Many tents today run from simple to palatial. There are bridges and pathways, arched entryways, parquet floors, stained – glass panels and chandeliers. You can also have colored tent that matches your wedding colors. keep in mind that depending on the weather you will need generators for heating or cooling and ceiling fans to keep air circulating.
There is various choices to choose from so keep in mind to have a reputable supplier that know how to measure your tent, that will accommodate your guest and all vendors involved. In general you will need at least 60×60 or 40×100 tent per 200 people for dancing and dinner. If you want restrooms or plan on having a cocktail hour you will need extra footage. Food tasting tips

Food and food service are the most important elements of your wedding celebration. Most caterers offer clients tastings of their food, from hors d’oeuvers to main courses. Food tasting are very important it reflects the chef’s preparation. Here are some tips on things to look for during your tasting:

1. If you have hired a wedding planner, they will schedule the tasting with the company, most likely because they have a relationship with them. It’s the planners job to be the clear eyed troubleshooter and to make sure you get the service you want.

2. Look for signs of good quality food. Make sure food does not appear discolored or dry. Check your salad, vegetables and bread. Make sure the detail is what you like.

3. Notice the attentiveness of the staff. If you’re attending a buffet tasting, note weather food is allowed to sit out for long periods without being replenished. The caterer should have sufficient staff to keep presentation as fresh looking.

4. Ask if it’s possible to meet the chef at your tasting. Be sure to thank the chef and offer positive feedback. Once you empower a chef with your attention and confidence, the results are amazing.

Finalizing your guest list

Your guest count will have a big impact on everything when planning your wedding (i.e invitations, cake, reception and more). The biggest cost factor is the guest list, because reception cost are the most expensive part of your wedding.

First you should start with your budget, make sure you know what you can afford and be realistic. Realize you have to make a choice to plan your guest list around the budget or make a list first and plan around that. Remember it’s YOUR wedding it’s okay to listen to your family and friends when trying to invite guest but your decision should be with yourself and fiancé’. The Wedding Cake

Wedding cakes are still the visual focal point of many receptions. The traditional cake is round or square, multi-tiered and frosted in white or pale pastels. But there’s no real limit on the size, shape, color, and style. Some couples skip the cake cutting and serve individual cakes to guest.

Color is everywhere in weddings today, and many couples incorporate their color themes into the design of the wedding cake. Colored floral, splashes of colored frosting or even design of her wedding dress. Some couples opt out on wedding cakes and choose a dessert table filled with pastries, fruits, cookies, mini desserts and many more. The vision is up to you when deciding on the look of your cake/dessert table.Cost of the cake will depend on the quantity required, cake size and elaborateness of the decorations. Because the simplicity of designing a cake takes time the expenses have increased. Usually the cost of a cake can range from $3 to $15 per serving.

Schedule a appointment with the baker four to five months before the wedding. Most reputable bakers offer tastings of cake, fillings and icings. Always sample a bakers work before signing a contract. And remember to bring pictures of the look your wanting and or draw out the cake of your dreams. More and more people are social when they attend beautiful weddings for family or friends. Instagram is becoming more popular and your wedding absolutely has to have a #hashtag to do this. This let’s guest help you capture your special day from their perspective. Start by coming up with a unique #hashtag. But don’t forget to tell all your guest to make sure they record your special day with Instagram. Here are other ways to inform your guests of your wedding #hashtag. You can add the info to your ceremony program, you can add a framed sign to your gift table. Think about including your Instagram name on your cards so that just in case your guests don’t follow you already, they can easily find you and tag you in the picture as well. The Perfect Venue

Finding the perfect venue is the very most important thing you should look for first when planning your wedding. Once you have determined the size, budget, location and style you will better have an idea as to the look of the venue you would like. Most venues require a deposit the day you reserve and a cancellation fee. So be sure you absolutely love the venue of your choice. Keep in mind hiring a full time wedding planner can help you determine which venues would be best because they work close with preferred vendors. Here are a few important considerations to keep in mind when selecting the perfect place.

Size- Choose a location that’s great for the size of your guest count. Do not choose a spacious venue if your guest count is smaller because you will have more to decorate and the tables will be far apart from each other. Make your guest feel comfortable.

Layout- Make sure your layout is correct so that you can easily set up chairs and tables, cake table,bridal table, food table (If having a buffet style), gift table etc.

Travel- When picking the perfect venue ask yourself is the destination accessible, how long does it take your guest to get from ceremony to reception if not in the same location. If within budget consider hiring a bus transportation to transport you guest to the reception and back. You don’t want to loose your guest because of the distance that they may have to travel.

Formality- The level of formality is very important because it sets the time and day of your wedding. If your having a morning or afternoon reception you can be more informal or formal as you want, but if it’s in the evening it’s usually a more formal reception which requires a more formal venue.

Before you sign a contract with the venue be sure to have a tour to make sure all your needs are meet. Check for all the important things. Ask what are their restrictions for you and your vendors. Make sure theirs parking for your guest. And most important make sure it is what you want.
